The School of Communication provides a student-centered, dynamic environment designed to elevate, empower and engage students to become skilled, ethical citizens and professionals who can excel in diverse local communities.
Located in the historic Arts and Sciences Hall, the School of Communication’s main office, classrooms, and computer labs offer hands-on experiences with the latest industry tools. We are a leader in many areas such as: convergence journalism, service-learning courses, instructional communication, conflict mediation, and American Democracy Project outreach.
Broadcasting students produce a weekly news program from the studios of UNO Television and work on-air and behind the scenes at MavRadio, our student-run radio station. Our faculty annually win college and university awards for their teaching and research, publish in major academic journals, and author acclaimed books.
